12 year old girl died

A 12-year-old girl died after drinking milkshake in an unwanted blender at a cafe in South-East London.
Mia Saint Hilare had a tree nut allergy and after its order had a serious response, it was believed that the pop -in cafes on Southwork Park Road consisted of hazelnuts and almond marks from the previous milkshake in the same machine.
He was rushed to the hospital where he died in August 2023.
The cafe is fined £ 18,000 and its owner has been given a 100 -hour community service after accepting six criminal allegations related to the Food Safety Act.
‘Just stopped’
The evidence provided by the Food Safety Team of Southworks Council included CCTV evidence showing the operator of the cafe, Baris Yukel, did not clean the blender before making Mia’s drink and did not clean the blender and the previous milkshake’s preparation behind the substance behind the preparation were left.
The Southworks Council argued that this led to a serious allergy response and could be avoided by Mia’s death.
