1. Energy Drink

Energy drinks have become quite popular in recent years, especially among youth. These beverages are often marketed as a quick way to boost your energy during a workout. Sure, they can give you instant energy, but did you know they can also speed up aging? Yes, you read that right. According to Garima, energy drinks contain high amount of caffeine, which causes dehydration and dullness of the skin. Additionally, they are also loaded with abundant amounts of sugar, which can increase oxidative stress in the body. When this happens your skin will mature quickly. Instead of energy drinks, she recommends drinking decaf coffee or sugar-free tea.

2. Alcohol

You should also avoid alcohol if you want to slow down the pace of aging. Nutritionists say alcohol can increase inflammatory cells, which can cause your skin to begin to deteriorate. Apart from this, drinking alcohol also causes dehydration in the body, which makes your skin look dull and dry. Drinking alcohol daily for five years can speed up biological aging by four months, according to a study published in Northwestern Medicine. So, make sure to consume alcohol within limits and only occasionally.

3. Soft drinks

For many of us, soft drinks are the preferred choice at a restaurant or a get-together. It provides instant gratification as soon as you take the first sip. However, we must not forget that your favorite soft drinks are also loaded with sugar. As we all know, anything with high sugar content is not good for us. Garima says that consuming these soft drinks can reduce skin elasticity and collagen production, which causes you to age faster. If you want your skin to remain young, stop drinking soft drinks immediately!
