Keibul Lamjao is located on Loktak Lake with its iconic phumdis (floating islands) and the endangered Sangai deer – an animal so beautiful that it has been nicknamed the “dancing deer of Manipur”. The Sangai deer is found only here and is revered by the local people as a symbol of Manipur’s cultural heritage.
