1. Chocolate Vegetable Rice Bowl

In March, Scott Heintzepeter went viral with his “vegetable rice bowl” with chocolate. The video begins with them adding an entire packet of chocolate chip cookies to boiling water, stirring it to a pudding-like consistency, and then adding canned carrots, peas, and sweet corn. He poured this “vegetable halwa” over rice and also tasted it, rating it 8/10. Viewers were stunned, with many comparing it to “food poisoning”.

2. Daulat Ki Chaat gets a non-veg makeover

April saw Delhi’s favorite Daulat ki Chaat reinvented as an omelette. In the viral video, a vendor made an omelette using butter, vegetables and spices before adding mayonnaise, cheese slices, onions, tomatoes and coriander. Needless to say, foodies weren’t impressed and the Internet quickly expressed their disapproval.

3. Make way for Golgappa Maggi

In May, a viral video showed a woman filling golgappas with vegetable Maggi. She ate a bite and smiled, but the Internet wasn’t as pleased. Maggi lovers immediately criticized the combination, with many demanding the arrest of those behind it. It was a shocking combination that astonished most people.

4. Mirinda + Omelette = Best Friends?

In June, a street vendor shocked onlookers by adding mirinda to his omelette mix. As soon as he poured orange soda into the beaten eggs, people panicked. 6. Fruits and Momos: A New Trend

October saw the rise of “fruit momos” in Delhi. A vendor filled fried fruits (apples, bananas, guavas) with butter, milk, cheese and cream, then added salt and herbs. Additionally, fried paneer momos were also added. The vlogger who posted the video claimed it was “specially made for gym enthusiasts”, but not everyone was convinced.

7. Chocolate Filled Idlis with Fruits

In October, a viral video featured “chocolate filled idlis” with strawberry, mango and litchi jam. The content creator did not shy away from saying, “I have never eaten anything worse than this in Bengaluru.” This bizarre combo was dubbed “Justice for Idli” on the internet.

8. Gulab Jamun Paratha

November brought us a new food trend: Gulab Jamun Paratha. The seller kneaded the dough, placed two gulab jamuns inside it and fried it on a pan and poured sugar syrup on top. outcome? A “dangerous diabetic couple”, according to many viewers, who were both shocked and disappointed.
