Three foods recommended by an expert that can clean your dirty kidneys

Regular exposure to toxins puts your kidneys at risk for stones, infections, and other diseases that impair their health. And so, according to experts, it is important to eliminate and flush out unwanted particles to boost organ function. The Kidney Cleansing Program detoxifies and cleanses the kidneys to nourish healthy kidneys. Three important food groups that help clear them include vegetables that are low in oxalate, high in magnesium and protein-rich fish. Read further to know in detail.

The kidney cleanse program focuses on detoxifying the kidneys by consuming kidney-friendly foods and beverages

Your kidneys are one of the most important organs that remove waste and excess fluid from your body. They also maintain a healthy balance of water, salt, and minerals like sodium, calcium, phosphorus, and potassium in your blood. Since they act as a natural filtration system for the body, they need to be cleansed when overworked or in need of regular detox.
“There are some foods that are really important,” Dr. Eric Berg said on his Instagram.
According to Dr. Berg, a Kidney cleansing helps remove toxins from your bodyPromotes better kidney health, and reduces the risk of diseases.
Some foods you should eat to help clean your dirty kidneys include:

Low Oxalate Vegetables

Low-oxalate vegetables are those that are rich in oxalic acid and calcium and are found in fruits and vegetables such as cabbage, asparagus, celery, dates and spinach.
According to Dr. Berg, these vegetables and fruits increase the risk of stones, which are painful hard deposits made of minerals. And hence, limit their consumption.

Magnesium Rich Foods

According to Dr. Berg, magnesium-rich foods prevent or slow the development of vascular calcification, which is associated with chronic kidney disease, or CKD. Magnesium may do this by preventing calcium phosphate from crystallizing.
Magnesium-rich foods like pumpkin seeds, leafy vegetables and avocados help counteract the toxic effects of phosphates on the kidneys. Excess phosphate damages your kidneys and magnesium prevents this damage.

high quality protein from fish

Fish is a wonderful source of protein and is great for people with kidney disease. However, experts recommend that people with kidney disease should limit their protein intake to 0.55-0.60 g/kg body weight per day. “Make sure you have a moderate amount of protein — not too much — and keep your carbs low because high blood sugar destroys the kidneys,” Dr. Berg said.
Fish is also a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, which help lower blood pressure and triglyceride levels, reduce the risk of heart disease, and increase good cholesterol.

Other Ways to Cleanse Your Kidneys

Other ways to regularly cleanse and detox your kidneys include:

drink more water

Drinking plenty of water is important for the kidneys to remove waste products from the blood. Water makes the blood vessels open to make it easier for blood to flow to the kidneys to deliver vital nutrients.

reduce sodium intake

Salt consumption increases urinary protein levels, which is a major risk factor for the development of kidney and heart diseases.

make substantial changes in diet

Changes in diet maintain the health of the kidneys and body in general. And hence, restrict processed foods and include kidney friendly foods.

drink dandelion tea

Dandelion leaves contain flavonoids, which are antioxidants that cleanse the kidneys, purify the blood and increase urine flow. Drinking dandelion tea regularly will help with kidney detox and prevent kidney disease.
