What is Pachadi, a South Indian dish?
Pachadi is the South Indian version of chutney. This chutney can be made with a variety of fruits and vegetables, with yogurt being the main ingredient. Pachadi also contains a mix of spices and is usually seasoned with a spicy tadka. It is extremely easy to make and tastes best when eaten with steamed rice.
Is Bhindi Pachadi healthy?
Bhindi Pachadi definitely meets the criteria of being a healthy side dish. The main ingredient in this Pachadi, curd, is an excellent source of calcium and protein. On the other hand, bhindi is rich in dietary fiber, which further enhances its nutritional profile. Bhindi Pachadi also includes coconut paste, which makes it even more healthy.
How to make Bhindi Pachadi | Bhindi Pachadi Recipe
The recipe for this bhindi pachadi was shared by Instagram page @diningwithdhoot. First, wash the bhindi thoroughly and chop it into small pieces. Heat oil in a pan and add chopped green chilies and bhindi to it. Mix well and cook for about 8 to 10 minutes. Meanwhile, add grated coconut to a food processor and blend till it forms a smooth paste. Add some water if you feel it is not smooth enough. Now, add curd to a large bowl and whisk it well. Add the prepared coconut paste along with salt, followed by the cooked bhindi. Finally, prepare the tempering by heating coconut oil with mustard seeds, curry leaves, and dried red chilies. Pour this tempering over the curd mixture and enjoy!
