Many men will tell you that becoming a father changes many things for them. Well, the same thing happened with me too upstox co founder Srini VishwanathHe realized how important it is for a person to be in good shape and good health. The birth of her child gave her a new perspective and she realized that she had to take care of her own well-being for the sake of her family and child. Earlier his weight was 68 kg and in just 100 days he reduced his weight by more than 13 kg to 55 kg.
“When I decided to lose weight, I gave myself 100 days to accomplish it. I set a goal, made a diet plan and told myself there was no looking back. To keep myself accountable, I booked a photographer in advance for the 100th day shoot. That level of commitment helped me stay disciplined and focused throughout the journey,” Vishwanath shared.
Even though Vishwanath had been hitting the gym for more than 10 years, he never focused on nutrition. “Now I ensure that my everyday diet consists of fibre-rich carbs, healthy fats and proteins. I absolutely avoid processed foods, white sugar and fried foods. Also, a good marker was eating foods that contain a single ingredient,” he shared.
Talking about his workout schedule, Vishwanath revealed that he walks at least 8,000 steps every day. “I also did weight training 3 times a week. The idea was to do a full body workout that included compound exercises like squats and deadlifts,” he shared.
Talking about the challenges she faced along the way, she said, “Balancing my professional and personal responsibilities was one of the biggest challenges. As a co-founder and a new parent, finding the time and energy to stay committed wasn’t easy. Choosing healthy food options while resisting temptations like junk food was another hurdle. To overcome these, I started eating home-cooked meals instead of eating out, uninstalled food delivery apps, and focused on small, consistent steps like walking 8,000 steps a day, even if it was indoors. So be it,” he said.
Interestingly, to keep herself motivated, she booked a photoshoot on her 100th day weight loss Travel “Having the photoshoot was a good idea. It motivated me financially and mentally to stay accountable. My family’s support also played a big role, as they encouraged me to stick to my plan even when temptation came “Breaking the journey into small, achievable steps helped me stay focused and motivated,” he reminisces.
Unlike many people who impose a complete ban on sweets and other things during their weight loss journey, Vishwanath decided to enjoy the things he loved. “Eating mindfully has been important. I allowed myself to eat smaller portions instead of overeating,” he shared.
Vishwanath says that he feels energetic after losing several kilos. “My flat-foot related pain has significantly reduced. Professionally, I feel more focused and productive, requiring less caffeine to stay alert. Most importantly, it has given me confidence and a sense of accomplishment.” This proves that anyone can achieve their goals with the right mindset and persistence,” he said.
His mantra throughout his journey has always been to take small steps towards his goals and be persistent. “Fitness isn’t about grand gestures; it’s about the small steps you take every day. Pay attention to nutrition – it matters more than what you do in the gym. Ditch the processed foods in favor of whole foods. Change from substances, and find a routine that fits your lifestyle. The most important thing is to remember that change is as much a mental game as it is a physical one. Set a goal, hold yourself accountable, and trust the process,” he said. Concluded.
