A person reported to disturb the symptoms of high cholesterol after following a non -vegetarian diet for 8 months.

In the mid-40s, a Florida man followed the trending carnivor diet and ended in the hospital with a yellow-yellow nodule at the hospital with his palms, elbows and his feet. The patient adopted a high-end-end-day diet for about 8 months before seeking medical help. His case was published in Jama Cardiology magazine. The patient’s diet habits included 6 to 9 pounds (2.7–4 kg) cheese, butter rods and daily consumption of hamburger. On the positive side, he reported weight loss, increase in energy and improving mental clarity.

While the patient reported some positive results, he finally developed dangerous levels of high cholesterol. They were diagnosed with xanthelasma, a condition in which cholesterol deposited under the skin. While nodules are usually painless, they can be a sign of high cholesterol, as seen in this case. According to several studies, high cholesterol levels are firmly associated with coronary heart disease.

What is a non -vegetarian diet?

A carnivorous diet is a restrictive diet that includes only animal products such as meat, chicken, poultry, eggs, seafood, fish and some dairy products. You need to exclude all vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, seeds and nuts. Relaxation you can consume water.

This diet, which promises weight loss and better energy, has recently gained a lot of popularity through social media affected, who claimed that this diet has improved their overall health.

In this case, after a non -vegetarian diet, the patient’s cholesterol level exceeded 1000 mg/dL, which is much higher than 210 to 300 mg/dL from its baseline level. Experts note that the case “highlights the importance of managing hyperclesterolemia to prevent the effects of dietary patterns on lipid levels and complications.”
