Having a sharp memory can cause a lot of difference in daily life. This helps you to remember important details, focus and feel more confident in social settings. While some people naturally have a good memory, others struggle to maintain information. If you are in the latter group, you are probably asked to eat almonds or walnuts at some point. Remember when your mother handed over a handful of you before the exam? Both nuts support brain health, but one has a slight edge over one. Dietist Sejal Ahuja breaks it.

Walnut vs Almonds: Which is better for memory?

According to Sejal, both almonds and walnuts can help improve memory. However, walnuts are more effective as they are doubled by the amount of omega -3 fatty acids than almonds. She explains that omega -3S are important for brain function, help with memory, cognition and concentration. Therefore, if you often forget things, adding walnuts to your diet can be a good idea.

How many walnuts should you eat per day?

Prachi Jain, Chief Clinical Nutritionist and HOD (Nutrition and Diet’s), CK Birla Hospital, in Gurugram, suggests daily starting with 2-4 walnuts. When you can eat them anytime, she advises them for better absorption, preferably in the morning, preferably.

Other foods that can promote memory

Walnuts are not just food that supports brain health. Green leafy vegetables, peanuts, turmeric, berries, eggs, broccoli, and dark chocolate are all filled with nutrients that help keep brain cells healthy. Adding them to your diet can support memory and cognitive work.

Foods that can damage memory and brain health

Nutritionist Pooja Makhija has warned that high foods in trans fats, sugar, artificial sweeteners, and sophisticated carbohydrates can negatively affect the health of the brain. Many of these foods can increase the risk of cognitive decline, stroke and memory issues. Common convicts include crisp, immediate noodles and fizzle drinks. Cutting on these can help protect your brain in a long time.
