We all try to live a healthy life- right, to exercise and avoid harmful habits. But what if the biggest threat to our health is hidden in everyday objects that we use without another idea? From plastic and cosmetics to air pollution and processed foods, cancer -causing substances, or carcinogenes, are all around us. While topical risk may not look dangerous, prolonged contact may significantly increase the risk of cancer.
Although we cannot escape from them completely, getting aware of their sources and changing simple lifestyle can help reduce exposure. We Dr. Sandeep Yadav, Advisor – Max Super Specialty Hospital, was in contact with respiratory and critical care medicine at Noida, who shared how to protect themselves from these hidden hazards.

1. Plastic problem: Are your containers safe?

Plastic is everywhere – our kitchens, offices and even children’s toys. But some plastic contains toxic chemicals such as Bisphenol A (BPA) and farts, which disrupt hormones and can contribute to cancer, especially breast and prostate cancer.

Dr. Yadav explains, “BPA and Fathlets are endocrine disruptive. They mimic hormones in the body and can lead to serious health issues over time, which increases the risk of some cancer. ,
So what can you do? Dug up single-use plastic bottles, avoid microwving food in plastic containers and select glass or stainless steel instead. In addition, be conscious of canned foods – many coaches are rowed with BPAs, which can leak in food.

2. Cosmetics: Are your beauty products harming you?

Your favorite lipstick, deodorant, or hair dye may contain harmful chemicals such as parabens, fathlets and formaldehyde. These chemicals are often associated with disintegration of hormones and even cancer. Dr. Yadav warned, “Many beauty products contain toxins that are absorbed through the skin. The long -term use of these chemicals is associated with hormones related cancer. ,

To stay safe, check the ingredient label and choose Paraben-Free, Fothlet-Free and Organic products. Mineral-based makeup, natural deodorant, and henna-based hair dye are great options.

3. Air pollution

We cannot avoid breathing, but we can become more aware about what we are in. Air pollution – Both indoors and outdoors – paint and furniture include PM2.5 particles, diesel smoke, radon and volatile organic compounds (VOC) such as carcinogenes. These pollutants can increase the risk of lung cancer and other respiratory diseases.

Dr. Yadav explains, “Long -term performance for pollutants like PM2.5 and Radon has been directly linked to lung cancer. It is necessary to reduce the exposure, especially for those living in urban areas. ,
To reduce the risk, use air purifiers, avoid exposure to heavy traffic pollution, and check the radon in your home. If you live in a high-pollution area, wearing N95 masks can provide additional protection.

4. Processed foods: Are you eating your way for cancer?

Ultra-prosely foods-Think-packed snacks, instant noodles, and processed meat-tricereques, artificial sweeteners and chemicals that are associated with an increase in the risk of cancer. A major criminal? Nitrates in processed meats such as bacon and sausage can turn into carcinogenic compounds in the body.

Dr. Yadav shares, “High diet in processed foods and artificial additives is connected to high rates of colorectal cancer. A balanced, whole food diet is important to reduce this risk. ,
Cut back on processed foods, choose fresh, home-cooked food, and swap artificial sweetness for natural options such as honey or stevia.

Can you avoid carcinogenes completely?

The reality is that, we cannot completely eliminate carcinogen from our lives. But we can reduce the exposure. Changes in small lifestyle – such as switching on safe food storage, using cleaner beauty products, improving air quality, and eating whole foods – can be a significant difference.

“The first step to prevent awareness,” Dr. Yadav says. “By making informed options, we can significantly reduce our risk for possible cancer -causing agents and protect our long -term health.”
Therefore, the next time you arrive for that plastic bottle, aesthetic product, or processed snack, take a moment to rethink – your future health may depend on.
