Disposable vep use before the ban in Britain

The popularity of disposable e-cigarettes or vapes has fallen ahead UK-wide restriction On his sale on 1 June, a study has been found.
Researchers believe that VAPE users are switching to refillable and rechargeable VAPE in the request of user ban.
According to research by the University College London (UCL), the percentage of people between the age of 16-24, which mainly uses disposable veps, has almost increased to 63% to 35% in the previous year.
After a significant growth of many years, the total use in over 16 adults between January 2024 and 2025 stopped.

The UK government restriction on disposable and single-use vips is aimed at preventing garbage, in most cases, the vep cannot be recycled and often eliminates in landfill or polluted natural environment.
The objective of the ban is aimed at dealing with the rising rates of youth and protecting children from damage.
The UCL study saw the survey data on Vepping habits in England, Wales and Scotland before and after the announcement of the ban.
The study used the data of smoking toolkit studies, which collected data on 88,611 people aged 16 and above.
Prior to the ban, between January 2022 and January 2024, VAPING increased from 8.9% to 13.5% among people aged 16 and above.
In young adults aged 16–24, use increased more rapidly, from 17% to 26.5%.
After announcing the ban, the researchers mainly found a decline in the number of vapors using disposable e-cigarettes-in all age groups and especially among children aged 16–24.
The study only asked VAPE users about the main option of their device.
Dr. Sarah Jackson, who works for UCL tobacco and Alcohol Research Group and is the lead writer of the survey, tells the BBC that she thinks that “more people are completely turning to refillable, re -reflective equipment rather than preventing vapor”.
She says, “We often see that people change their behavior in response to adjacent policy changes before coming into action.”
Disposable vep are single-use devices, which are already filled with wipes, while refillable and recharged (re-purpose) devices have a long shelf-life and often have a cheap way for vape in long-term.
A reusable VAPE contains VAPE liquid that can be reflected and a battery that can be recharged.
How are the VAPING rules changing?
Dr. Jackson says that VAPE manufacturers have also been accelerated to react to the upcoming ban, “the most popular” disassemable brands created rechargeable versions of their most popular models with brands.
“They are very similar in design, color, taste and even price,” she says.
While Dr. Jackson feels that it is very early to mention whether the new strategy of the government will stop the youth from the opposition, she states that the health MLAs face the “one issue of balance”.
“We know that it tries to do something and tries to do something to reduce the huge number of young people, but here the major public health priority smokes,” she says.
“It is very harmful and killing many people every year, so we need to ensure that any policy measures are brought to deal with the youth, which do not prevent people from using VEPs, which are very effective in quitting smoking,” she says.
