Abu Dhabi will be the safest city in the world in 2024

Abu Dhabi has retained its position as the safest country in the world and the most liveable country in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region for the 8th consecutive year, according to the Global Liveability Index and rankings by Numbeo.

Abu Dhabi has once again solidified its position as a global leader, having been named the world’s safest country and the most liveable city in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region for 2024. This remarkable achievement marks the eighth consecutive year that United Arab Emirates The Capital ranked top in the safety index, scoring 88.2 on the security index, and also ranked high in healthcare and education.
Both the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Liveability Index and Numbeo’s Safety Index praised Abu Dhabi’s exceptional performance across a variety of criteria, including healthcare, education, infrastructure and cultural offerings.

Abu Dhabi’s rise as a global destination is driven by its strategic vision, ambitious development plans and strong focus on quality of life. According to reports, by the end of 2022, Abu Dhabi had 3,323 healthcare facilities, including 67 hospitals, 1,136 health centers and 1,068 pharmacies, with a total of 12,922 licensed doctors. The city’s stunning architecture, world-class museums and luxurious amenities have turned it into a cultural and economic hub. In addition, its commitment to sustainability and environmental initiatives has earned it international recognition.
Like Dubai, other Gulf cities also performed well in the rankings. Dubai is ranked second in the UAE for liveability and fifth worldwide for safety.
