A 4 -year -old Australian baby bit into a laundry pod that broke into his eyes, partially blinded him. According to the pair, his daughter Luka was helping her to wash her clothes when an accident occurred. Luka has four surgery and is not able to look properly till date. A four -year -old Australian girl has partially blinded after a bursting in the eye of a laundry, while she was helping her mother to work. From Perth, Luka de Grot, with her mother, pairs, was wearing clothes to wash when she was a little bit in a washed pod, while the pair’s back turned.
Pod then burst on Luka’s face, which started shouting and then rubbed the toxic liquid on her face and eyes, before the pair could do anything about it. Jodi then tried to chemical Luka in the shower area and drove out chemicals.
However, when Luka’s screaming and condition deteriorated, the pair took her to an emergency room in a nearby hospital, where doctors participated in surgery after four attempts to get their eyes out. Two surgery were then conducted on the eyes of the luca, and after that, they found an amniotic membrane transplant to help promote treatment.
After more than two weeks at the hospital, doctors said that the shocking red, swelling, and blister-end-cytage eyes had decreased slightly after the dangerous risk of detergents. His vision is not yet fully recovering from the accident.

What is a laundry pod?

Also known as washing capsules, a laundry pod is one of the newest methods of washing laundry except in a washing machine. The pod is easy to handle, the detergent goes pre–papa, and there is no spread. The coating of the pod dissolves in washing.
According to the disease control and prevention centers, there is an emerging public health danger, especially in children aged five years or less. Doctors warn that children who bite in them and harmful and toxic chemicals can be dangerous for their health. These irritation, difficulty in breathing and even death can cause if ingesting or if skin contact is prolonged. Children can make mistakes for candy due to their colorful packaging and shape.

How to store laundry pods to prevent health issues?

According to experts, if you like to use washing pod instead of detergent, make sure:
  • Store the laundry pod safely
  • Keep them out of the reach of children and store them in a closed cabinet
  • Consider traditional detergent
  • You can also use liquid or powder laundry detergent alternatively, which are usually considered safe for children.
  • Educate children
  • Teach your children that the laundry pods are not to eat
  • Contact poison control
  • If you suspect that someone is made aware of the washing pod, contact the poison control center immediately.

If your child has swallowed or chew the detergent pod, bring them to the hospital without any delay. If possible, a small amount of water can be given carefully to get out of the mouth. Do not allow your child to eat or drink until further evaluation by the health care provider. Also, if their eyes are exposed, wash them with clean water immediately. If any part of the skin is included, remove any fabric that can be contaminated with detergents and wash the area thoroughly with soap and water.
