Walking just 7,000 steps can reduce the risk of cancer by 16%: Study

A new Oxford study suggests that walking at least 7,000 per day can reduce the risk of cancer by up to 16 percent. Beyond the prevention of cancer, walking also supports heart health, mental welfare, weight management and immune power. Overall health and longevity can be greatly promoted regardless of the speed of walking in simple daily stages.

A new study conducted by the University of Oxford found that daily walking can significantly reduce the risk of your cancer development. While exercise is already widely known for its health benefits, this new research zero as simple and accessible to the intensive effect of something.

More than 85,000 people tracked for 6 years

In this massive study, more than 85,000 adults in the UK integrated into fitness trackers and integrated into their routine. The research team followed the participants for six years, carefully counting their daily steps and monitoring the same health results. Data revealed a clear and encouraging link between the number of steps that walk daily and reduce cancer risk.

How many stages do it make a difference?

The results of the study indicated that a person once runs at least 5,000 steps per day. Below this limit, there were no average benefits. However:

7,000 steps per day reduced cancer risk decreased by 11 percent
  • 9,000 steps per day dropped the risk to 16 percent
  • More than 9,000 stages offered even more security
  • These figures differ slightly between men and women, but the overall pattern was consistent.

    Does walking speed matters?

While brisk walking is usually associated with better health results, the study found that the speed of speed matters more in reducing the risk of cancer. So even if you move leisurely, you play a more important role in the prevention of cancer every day.

Regular walking strengthens the heart and improves circulation. It helps in reducing blood pressure and cholesterol levels, reducing the risk of heart disease and stroke.

    2. AIDS in weight management

Walking triggers the release of endorphin, the body’s natural mood weightlifter. This reduces the symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression, promoting the spirit of welfare.

    4. Strengthens joints and bones

Regular walking helps to lubricate the joints and strengthen the muscles that support them. It also maintains bone density, reduces the risk of osteoporosis and arthritis.
