Essential natural sources of protein to consume daily
beans
Legumes like beans and sprouts are eaten at least once a day in most Indian households. But according to Rujuta, eating them only without maintaining balance with carbohydrates like roti will not be effective. Eat a cup of lobia, rajma, chana or your favorite legumes daily as nutritional powerhouses that provide abundant protein along with other nutrients.
Lentils
Pulses are also a frequent feature of every Indian thali, but apart from just boiling and seasoning, you can make it tasty and healthy in many other ways. Rujuta says, instead of eating them as curry, you can also use them in making roti, paratha or salad. Many people use lentils to make dosa – a healthy and energy-packed breakfast.
crazy
You don’t need any special occasion to eat nuts. According to Rujuta, you must include almonds and walnuts in breakfast. If you do not like to eat soft dry fruits, then fry them a little and add spices to make them roasted.
milk products
Milk and milk products are rich in protein and calcium. Along with this, cheese, cream, butter and curd are also a powerhouse of protein with all nine essential amino acids.
Rujuta says milk provides about 1 gram of protein in every fluid ounce—that’s 30 mL or 8.14 grams in each cup. With requirements like whey and casein proteins, milk and milk products have good digestibility and promote low blood pressure levels. Whey protein is also excellent for increasing and maintaining muscle – and that’s why it’s a popular supplement among athletes and bodybuilders.
eggs
An egg contains about 5.2 to 7.5 grams of protein, depending on its size. Rujuta recommends eating one egg daily to maintain a strong and healthy body. It also helps in the growth and repair of all cells and tissues in the body, which break down and rebuild every day, even in adults. At the cellular level, proteins regulate vital systems such as metabolism and immune function.
