For the first time, beaches in Goa have opened at the start of the tourist season, much to the delight of locals and travelers alike. Usually, these iconic huts open towards the end of the year when the tourist season is in full flow around December, but this year’s change symbolizes how Goa is getting ready to welcome tourists. .
Goa’s beaches are an important part of the Goa experience. These rustic but charming structures offer fresh seafood, tropical drinks, and an atmosphere that attracts tourists from all over the world. Typically, the process of setting them up involves extensive paperwork, often delaying their opening until after the tourist season begins. However, this year, in a historic decision, shops have been allowed to open on the beach at the beginning of the season.

“This is the first time that the shacks are waiting for the tourists to arrive. Usually, the tourists wait for the shacks to arrive. Of the 350 off beach shacks, about 80 per cent have already been built and the rest will be built by October 15. Cruz Cardoso, president of the Shake Owners Welfare Society, said, according to a PTI report.
Goa’s economy depends largely on tourism and beach huts play an important role in this ecosystem. By allowing shacks to open earlier, the local government aims to maximize the economic benefits of the tourism season. Shack owners, many of whom depend on seasonal earnings, now have a longer window to generate income.

With the shacks already up and running, beachgoers no longer have to wait till late November or December to enjoy the quintessential Goa experience. From the famous beaches of Baga and Calangute to quieter stretches like Palolem and Morjim, shops are now open all over Goa, each with its own unique charm.
