Makhana Aloo Curry is a delightful dish to have in your Navratri menu for all the right reasons. It’s healthy, full of flavor and easy to make – what’s not to love about it? The combination of makhana and potatoes works like magic, creating an interesting contrast in texture. Be it lunch or dinner, this unique potato curry will definitely satisfy your heart.

What to serve with Makhana Aloo Curry?

Makhana potato curry tastes best when mixed with a bowl of hot rice. You can enjoy it with both plain rice or jeera rice depending on your personal preference. If you’re not a fan of rice, feel free to pair the curry with regular buckwheat (buckwheat) roti.

How to make Makhana Potato Curry. Makhana Aloo Curry Recipe

– First of all, heat oil in a pan and fry the makhana in it until it becomes golden brown and crisp. Cancel. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pressure cooker. Add onion paste to it and cook on low-medium flame for 10 minutes. Add garam masala powder, cumin, red chili powder, coriander powder and green chili and mix. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add tomato paste and cook for a few minutes until the mixture thickens. Add peeled and chopped potatoes, add salt and mix well. Pressure cook till 4 whistles. Once done, allow the pressure to release naturally. Open the cooker and cook on low flame for 4-5 minutes. Add roasted makhana and mix well. Garnish with fresh chopped coriander and serve hot. Your Makhana Aloo Curry is ready to taste!
