A team of doctors from Delhiās Fortis Hospital used an advanced endoscopy procedure to remove a 3 cm long live cockroach from the intestines of a young man in just ten minutes, saving his life. According to the doctors, the man had complained of severe stomach pain and not being able to eat anything for the last 2-3 days, following which the doctors had to perform emergency surgery as it could have fatal consequences. In a fatal case, doctors at a Delhi hospital successfully removed a live cockroach from the small intestine of a young man after using endoscopy as he was suffering from severe pain and discomfort. According to Fortis Hospital, the 22-year-old man had complained of severe stomach pain and difficulty in digesting food for the last 2-3 days.
And so, a team led by Dr. Shubham Vatsya, Senior Consultant, Gastroenterology, Fortis Hospital, assessed the case and removed the insect through a ten-minute long endoscopy ā a procedure involving a thin, lighted instrument with a camera and light.
