Traditional dosa is made from a batter of fermented rice and lentils. This thin and crispy dish is usually served with sambar (a spicy lentil-based vegetable stew) and chutney, a hit with desi foodies. A variety of dosas, from masala dosa (filled with spicy potatoes and onions) to rava dosa (made with semolina), tantalise the taste buds of food lovers. Recently we came across a viral video of helicopter dosa. An elderly woman from Ahmedabad was preparing this dish and serving it to her customers.

The video shared by food blogger Janak Bardolia shows the woman preparing helicopter dosa by following some simple steps. First of all he took a frying pan and applied batter on it. Then, she removed the excess batter from the pan and let it cook. Later, she added some spices, chutney, chopped coriander and a yellow masala to the filling. Finally, when the dosa is ready to serve. He took a plate, took out the dosa from the pan and added sambar and chutney to it. That is all! The helicopter dosa was ready to taste. “I am waiting to go to Dosa by helicopter. Watching again and again to confirm I didn’t miss the flying part, bro,” read another comment.

Another comment added, “Helicopter dosa (cross). Masala Dosa (Tick).”

“I’m still waiting for the dosa to ‘fly’,” wrote one disgruntled social media user.

,This helicopter will fly dosa kb didi ji (Will the helicopter dosa fly, big sister?)” read one hilarious comment.

But one user was quite satisfied with the dosa, saying, “It looks good.”

One person said, “Here’s the answer. When the dosa is ready, the pilot eats the dosa and flies away, so there is no helicopter.”
