Vegetarian vs non-vegetarian debate? Old news. Recently, Jeff, a fruit vendor from Bali, shared his daily routine of an all-fruit, unsweetened diet, sparking debate on social media. Her clip, titled “What I eat in a day as a fruitarian”, quickly went viral and has everyone talking. In the video, Jeff walks viewers through his entire day, meal by meal, jokingly adding, “And I haven’t died from protein deficiency yet.”
First, breakfast: fresh coconut, cracked and ready to use. “Today’s breakfast is fresh coconut, mainly because of its super simple, crack-it-open record,” shares Jeff. For anyone wondering, this is as minimal as it gets! After breakfast, he gets into a workout and eats his first “made meal” of the day – two giant red dragon fruits. He added, “I live here in Bali, and these things are pretty important in the diet because they’re absolutely amazing.”
Lunch consists of a green juice made of celery, pineapple, ginger and lime, which he prepares like a pro. “It was great. I did one and a half periods, followed by some squats,” Jeff explains, as he chops and mixes his ingredients.
For dinner around 5:30, Jeff goes out with a big salad filled with avocado, peppers and cucumber noodles. “It was delicious,” he says with a smile as he picks up a bowl of colorful vegetables.
And Jeff’s caption? “Do I need meat? Leave a comment and let me know if you think I’ll wither and die from protein deficiency at some point. Because everyone loves to tell people on the internet what Need to eat LOL.”

With over 5 million views, it’s fair to say that people are invested in Jeff’s fruit-based diet and lifestyle.
Some users weren’t holding back: “You can tell by his voice he’s about to faint to talk,” wrote one. Another quipped, “Who gave you permission to pick fruits from the plants?” To which Jeff responded by saying “God.” But the commentator responded, “God also allows some animals to be eaten, so don’t deprive yourself of that.”
One commenter commented, “He works out for hours and has no muscles,” while another asked, “How are you working out on 300 calories a day?” And then there’s the skeptic: “He’s faking it for the (Insta)gram.”
But not everyone was there to criticize – Jeff had some support in the mix. One viewer encouraged, “Don’t listen to what people say. Keep going.” Another chimed in, “This man clearly loves his health, life, and body! I’m cheering you on.”
So, what do you think? Does Jeff’s fruit diet seem feasible or does your team ‘need more than just fruit’? Let us know in the comments!
