Virat Kohli inspires many people not only for his performance on the field but also for his fitness regime. His fans praise him for keeping himself fit on and off the field. But how does he do it? Talking to the media, he said that he eats not for taste but for nutrition. The veteran cricketer revealed that his diet consists of almost 90 percent boiled and steamed foods. He avoids heavy sauces and spices, opting for basic seasonings like salt, pepper and lemon.
His meals often include salads, but he takes special care not to include heavily spiced curries in his plate. He says that this minimal diet makes him feel light and energetic. “90 percent of my food is steamed and cooked, with no spices, salt, pepper or lemon. I like salad, but not masala curry. I will eat lentils, definitely not fried. “I’m not a big fan of the taste, I can occasionally eat it grilled on a pan,” he said.
For protein, Kohli chooses options like rajma (kidney beans) and lobia (black-eyed peas), but avoids oily, deep-fried foods. Virat Kohli said, “I will eat rajma and lobia but nothing else in masala curry.”
In his other media interactions, the veteran cricketer has mentioned that he can eat the same thing three times a day for the next six months and he has absolutely no objection to it. He has also removed gluten from his diet and instead prefers nutritious carbohydrates through smoothies, sprouts and salads. His typical daily meal includes quinoa, spinach and a variety of green vegetables, seasoned only with lemon juice, salt and pepper.
For lunch and dinner, kohlrabi platters are filled with grilled vegetables and bowls of soup. Although he occasionally eats dosa, he keeps it to a minimum while focusing on a nutritious diet to enhance his performance. Virat Kohli is strict about what things he avoids in his diet. He stays away from fried foods, heavy curries and dishes with heavy spices. Since switching to a vegetarian diet, he has also cut down on dairy products and is choosing tofu and soy-based foods instead. Kohli has also eliminated sugar from his diet, showing his dedication to clean eating and simple nutrition.
It is not only his diet that helps him stay active and on top of his game, but his intense workout regime is something that cannot be compromised on for him. At the age of 35, he is still in peak fitness condition, and his extreme workout routine is designed in a way that can help him maintain his strength, speed, and stamina. Virat Kohli swears by high-intensity workouts that include a combination of strength training, cardio and agility drills. His fitness routine is designed to increase overall strength, stamina and flexibility, helping him stay at the top of his game.
