This juice is popular in sweets like malai, malai peda and kulfi. But have you ever heard of Malai Roti? Imagine that buttery flavor transformed into flatbread form. Recently, a video featuring malai roti caught the attention of many people on Instagram. It was shared by influencer @youtubeswadofficial and was shot in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The caption read, “The most famous cream bread. Must try once in life (The famous malai roti. Try it once in your life).” A note above the video read, “It must not have been eaten for sure (Surely you wouldn’t have eaten it).”

In the video, the food vendor can be heard saying, “Sir, this is Malai Roti. This caste is created only from milk. Apologize may have made similar rotis at many places but this one is made only with cream. You can eat it even in 5 minutes. It is round in shape, that is why we call it roti. (Sir, this is malai roti. It is made only with milk. You might have made many such rotis, but this one is made only with malai. You can eat it in 5 minutes. It is round in shape, so we call it It is called bread).

The confectioner further said, “Dry fruits are added on top of it – almonds, cashew nuts, mace, jackfruit, cardamom. The addition of cream makes its taste even better. It is only Rs 100 for 100 grams. One piece costs around Rs 180 (It is topped with dry fruits – almonds, cashews, nutmeg, mace and cardamom. These are added to make it taste even better. At the end of the video, after tasting the malai roti, the influencer said, “The best thing is that it tastes amazing(The best thing is that it tastes amazing).

Well, this malai roti has failed to impress some foodies in the comments section.

One user wrote, “Have you ever heard the name of Banaras? Malai Puri has been being sold here for 50 years. (Have you heard about Banaras? Malai Puri has been sold here for the last 50 years).”

Another noted, “After one emptying, one feels like vomiting for the whole day or one is about to vomit. (After eating once, I feel nauseous the whole day).” To this, the influencer who posted the video asked, “Why?”. The person explained, “Brother, if Malai Roti is very heavy then you feel bloating. (Malai roti is heavy, so I felt bloated).”

One comment read, “is fake (It is fake).”

“Overhyped,” one user said.
