This small village, situated on the banks of the surging Parvati River in the valley of the same name, has been a mainstay for backpackers and trekkers, many of whom either come here for the café culture or make it their base as they travel around Many treks set out to explore. , mainly Saar Pass and Pin Parvati Valley trek.

day 1
Morning: Local tour
Start your day with a quiet breakfast by the river at one of the many cozy cafes in Kasol like Bhoj Cafe or Moon Dance Cafe. Enjoy Israeli-inspired dishes like shakshuka or hummus with pita while enjoying spectacular views of the Parvati River. After breakfast, take a leisurely stroll through the Kasol Bazaar, where you can shop for unique souvenirs, woolen shawls and handmade jewellery. Don’t miss the shops selling colorful harem pants and Tibetan trinkets, which you’ll see at every foreigner in this small village.

Afternoon: Trek to Chalal village
If you want to stretch your legs, take a walk to Chalal village, located less than 2 kilometers from Kasol, and can be reached in about 30-45 minutes. This trail is filled with beautiful scenery and pine-scented air, perfect for a tranquil trek. Unlike Kasol, which is now somewhat touristy, this village still retains its old-world charm.

Evening: Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara
A holy site for both Hindus and Sikhs, Sri Manikaran Sahib is located just 3 km from Kasol, and can be reached by local bus or cab. This Gurudwara has hot water springs which are believed to have healing powers. You can also visit the Shiva temple located near the Gurudwara.

Morning: Kheerganga Trek
Wake up early and get ready for a half-day trek to Kheerganga, one of the most popular routes in the Parvati Valley. The trek takes about 4-5 hours one way and gives you breathtaking views, lush green forests and natural hot springs at the summit. Don’t forget to take a dip in the hot water, which is believed to have therapeutic properties.

Basas
If you’re short on time, you can opt for a short trip to Tosh, a quaint village offering panoramic views and cozy cafés. It is the last motorable village in the Parvati Valley, located 20 km from Kasol and is extremely popular among backpackers for its picturesque views and cheap accommodation.

Evening: Malana
This secluded village is a journey in itself. Locals in Kasol will tell you how the people in Malana consider themselves descendants of Alexander the Great, and have a strict code of conduct, which includes not touching any stranger outside their community. And of course, Malana is most famous for Malana Cream, a highly sought-after variety of hashish.

how to reach kasol
The nearest airport is Kullu-Manali Airport (Bhuntar), about 31 km away. From there you can take a taxi to Kasol. It is also well connected by road and can be reached by buses from Delhi or Chandigarh. Opt for night buses to reach early in the morning and make the most of your weekend.
