The city is known for its beauty, history and picturesqueness. It has now also earned a reputation for sustainability. The city has dominated the rankings nine times in the last eleven years.

Copenhagen
Copenhagen retained its position as the second most liveable city for the third year in a row. It excels in sustainability, education and infrastructure.
Zurich
Zurich moves up from sixth place to third in 2023. The city benefits from top scores in healthcare and education.

Melbourne
Melbourne may have slipped, but it still remains on top due to its strong healthcare and education services.
Calgary/Geneva
Calgary in Canada and Geneva in Switzerland retained the fifth spot. Both cities have shown resilience in many aspects.

Sydney/Vancouver
Sydney, Australia, and Vancouver, Canada, also retained their spots in the top 10. Although Sydneyâs ranking has dropped, Vancouverâs housing costs have also impacted its ranking.
Osaka/Auckland
Osaka in Japan and Auckland in New Zealand also retained the rankings as these cities excel in sustainability, healthcare and education.
