Kerala witnesses the launch of its first 20-coaches today Vande Bharat Express connect Thiruvananthapuram And kasaragodThat makes it much easier for travelers to explore two gorgeous southern cities. This is the third 20-coach Vande Bharat In India, the express runs along with other trains on two routes – the New Delhi–Varanasi and Nagpur–Secunderabad routes.
According to reports, the train was 100% booked on the first day of its run and according to the IRCTC booking app, bookings for the next days are also already in the waiting list category.
Vande Bharat Express is scheduled to operate at a maximum speed of 130 km/hr, making it one of the fastest train services in the state. The journey between Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod, which usually takes around 12 hours by conventional trains, will now be completed in just under 8 hours. The train departs from Thiruvananthapuram at 5:15 am and reaches Kasaragod at 1:20 pm.
The 20-coach Thiruvananthapuram-Kasaragod Vande Bharat Express is a significant upgrade to India’s railway services. With a seating capacity of 1,440, it exceeds 16-coach trains that can accommodate 1,128 passengers. Passengers will enjoy 15% more storage capacity and 10% additional cushioning in the ergonomic seats. Executive class passengers get three inches of extra legroom, which increases comfort during the journey.
The train ensures a smooth and quiet ride thanks to the advanced shock absorbers and suspension system. It’s also inclusive, with dedicated wheelchair spaces for visually impaired and differently-abled passengers, braille-embossed seat numbers and spacious, anti-slip restrooms.

Thiruvananthapuram Central-Kasaragod Vande Bharat Express will run every day except Wednesday. The train offers chair car and executive chair car options. The train ticket price is Rs 1191 for chair car and Rs 2416 for executive chair car.
