Durga Puja, one of the most important festivals for the Bengali community and a celebration of the victory of good over evil, sees entire areas of Delhi-NCR transformed into stunning pandals with themed displays, incredible food and a euphoric atmosphere. If you’re in the city but short on time, take a pandal tour to our five favorite spots to enjoy the excitement of the puja.
Kali Bari Temple, Chittaranjan Park, Delhi
The focal point of community celebrations, especially during Durgotsav, this temple hosts one of the most prominent pandals every year. Known for its authentic Bengali culture, the Kali Mandir Pandal is one of the oldest pandals in the city, and features intricate decorations that reflect traditional Bengali art forms. The theme changes every year, with different social issues or historical events showcased, making it not only a spiritual experience but also an educational one.

Kashmiri Gate Durga Puja, Delhi
The Kashmiri Gate Durga Puja Pandal is a must see, as it has the distinction of being the oldest Durga Puja in Delhi. Presently housed in the Bengali Senior Secondary School on Alipore Road, its roots date back to 1910, when it began as a community ‘Baroyari’ puja. Having crossed the 100 years mark, this pandal creates a deep sense of nostalgia while maintaining its traditional style of decoration. The sculptures are decorated with exquisite ‘Dakar Saaj’, one of the most beautiful forms of ornamentation.

Minto Road Durga Puja, Delhi
If you want to see Dhunuchi dance closely, this is the place you should go. The celebrations at Minto Road are based on religious fervor unlike any other festival, with food stalls, dhaki displays and prayers continuing till late evening. Like the Kashmere Gate pandal, the puja pandal at Minto Road also has a glorious past, having been started in the 1940s by members of the local Bengali community.
CNPC Durga Puja, Noida
The Central Noida Puja Committee (CNPC), which was launched in 2018 to promote socio-cultural and religious space for the East Indian community, organizes the biggest Durga Puja in Noida, featuring cultural performances, celebrations from leading brands. There are many attractions including food stalls. , a selfie point, and an automobile display. This year, the pandal is built on the concept of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, to complement the recently opened Veda Van. At this pandal, expect a variety of competitions, a curated menu for all three days of the Bhandara and cultural programs every night.
CNPC Durga Puja
Sushant Lok Durga Puja, Gurugram
This year, Sushant Lok Durga Puja Committee (SLDPC) is celebrating 25 years of community togetherness by marking both its silver jubilee and pandal festivities. The event promises to be grand, with renowned artist Kashinath Das set to design the pandal, while the community prepares traditional dishes. Visitors can find a range of stalls offering handicrafts, artefacts, apparel, Bengali sweets and much more.
