Accused of attempt to murder after stabbing a nurse

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a nurse was stabbed at a hospital and left with life-changing injuries.
Rumon Haq, 37, has also been charged with possession of a bladed article following the incident at around 23:30 GMT on Saturday at the Royal Oldham Hospital’s acute medical unit.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the nurse, a woman in her 50s, is being treated in hospital for her injuries.
The force said Mr Haq, of Royton, Greater Manchester, is due to appear before Manchester Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Det Superintendent Matt Walker said GMP’s thoughts were with the nurse.
He said the force’s priority was “to support him, his family and his colleagues at this difficult time”.
Det Supt Walker said officers were also offering support to any NHS staff affected by Saturday’s incident.
