Indian street food is known for two different identities. While some people fear the effects of “Delhi Belly”, others thoroughly enjoy its delicious delicacies. Trusting his strong immune system, American vlogger Colin Duthie took the challenge of eating with the intention of getting food poisoning. He shared the video of the food challenge on Instagram. “So happy to be back in India. The energy here is truly unmatched. New Delhi is the most chaotic city I have ever seen. With a population of 33 million people, it’s hard to escape the madness of people and rickshaws passing by you all day long. There are some beautiful temples and parks to find some peace of mind though. In fact this is my third time in New Delhi and every time it gets better

Colin’s gastronomic journey began with dal kachori. From the first crispy bite, he seemed to love it. Next, the vlogger satisfied his taste buds with crispy-fried, potato-stuffed samosas which he found “pretty good.” Later, Colin also tried a flavoured ice lolly, but he couldn’t finish the frozen dessert. In his words, the ice lolly tasted “a bit like freshly cut grass.” Contrary to his expectations, Colin didn’t suffer any illness by the end of his “desi” culinary tour. He promised to continue his exploration in other parts of India.

Users on social media reacted to this video. One person said sarcastically, “Brother’s stomach should be examined.”
“Brother is really built differently,” another agreed.
One foodie said, “You are not made differently! This is Indian natural food without any American touch! It won’t hurt you.”
“You’re not created any differently. Most Indian street food is actually pretty healthy,” one person reassured.
Meanwhile, a sceptical user advised, “Never eat ice in India, you don’t know if it’s filtered or not, you might get sick, I never eat ice because of this.”
“This is so good!!! I’ll try it too,” someone else said.
