On the occasion of World Liver Day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah opened about his personal weight-loss and fitness journey, sharing how small but frequent lifestyle changes helped him regain health and vitality. Referring to its change since 2019, Shah said, “I have made a big change since May 2019. The right amount of sleep, pure water, a balanced diet and regular exercise have brought me to a point where I no longer needs any allopathic drugs or insulin.”
The Union Minister said that this health journey not only helped him physically, but also increased his mental ability. “This has improved my ability to work, think and decide,” he said.
Amit Shah’s 3-step routine for better health
Shah’s message is a simple, notable routine. He recommends:
Two -hour daily exercise to keep the body fit.
Sleep of six hours to allow the brain to relax and rejuvenate the brain.
Proper hygiene and a nutritious dietary overall organ health, especially the liver support.
He said, “I request the youth to dedicate two hours and at least six hours of good sleep for physical activity. It has done amazing work for me, and I believe it can work for others too,” he said.
Apart from sharing his personal example, Shah also appealed to corporate homes and institutions to raise awareness about liver health and invest in research and treatment facilities. He said, “Assistant institutions like ILB can lead a long way to improve public health infrastructure.”
Why sleep and exercise
Several studies have shown that both adequate sleep and regular exercise are important pillars of long -term health. According to Harvard Medical School, taking 6-8 hours of sleep every night helps the brain to regulate consolidated memory, repair tissue and hormones. On the other hand, chronic sleep deficiency, obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and even liver disorders increase the risk of lifestyle diseases.
Regular physical activity, even simple as walking or stretching, improves heart health, increases liver function, reduces stress, and forms muscle strength. It also increases the immune system and helps managing weight effectively.
A 2021 study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that 150–300 minutes of medium-spurning exercise significantly reduces the risk of death due to all reasons, especially in people with existing health conditions.
Other ways to lose weight
While Shah’s routine is a great foundation, here we have listed many other strategies that can supplement or replace traditional methods for weight loss:
Ancient fasting: After a dining program like 16: 8 or 5: 2, it can help control calorie intake and improve metabolism.
Mindful Eating: Focusing on signs of hunger, slowly eating, and avoiding distractions like screens can reduce overwriting.
strength training: In addition to cardio, the construction of muscles through resistance workouts increases metabolism and supports long -term fat loss.
Cut back on processed foods: Reducing sugar, sophisticated carbs, and trans fats can dramatically improve weight and liver health.
To be active throughout the day: Beyond the gym, taking stairs, using a standing desk and incorporating moving brakes can increase daily energy expenditure.
Tracking intake: Using apps or magazines to monitor the level of food and activity often helps people to be accountable and identify patterns.
Getting professional support: Nutritionists, individual instructors, or behavioral physicians can offer customized plans and guidance.
managing stress: Chronic stress causes hormonal imbalance and emotional food. Activities such as yoga, meditation, or even creative hobbies can create a significant difference.
Quality Dosage: In consultation with a healthcare provider, adding essential nutrients such as vitamin D, omega -3S, or probiotics can help regulation and digestion.
