This is why despite snowfall and long traffic lines, travelers are flocking to Manali. The winter charm of the hill town is irresistible, and there’s no better time than the New Year to experience it. If you are visiting Manali now, here are five experiences that can make your New Year holidays super fun!

go to mall road
Mall Road is the center of Manali’s New Year celebrations. You can stroll through the vibrant streets decorated with twinkling lights, sip hot tea and taste local cuisine from roadside stalls. Pick up quirky souvenirs, cozy winter wear, or handmade trinkets as keepsakes. As midnight approaches, we recommend that you join the crowd to welcome the New Year with joy. But be careful, the crowds here can get pretty loud.

Solang Valley
For snow chasers, Solang Valley is the ultimate winter playground. If you’re feeling adventurous, ski the powdery slopes, ride a snowmobile, or try snowboarding. For those who are less inclined towards adrenaline, you can simply sit and enjoy the panoramic views of the snow-clad valley.
bonfire nights under the stars
Come winters and most hotels in Manali offer an incredible mix of live music, bonfires and a blanket of stars overhead. It’s the perfect way to ring in the New Year in the mountains, with great food and company. Bring your guitar or simply join in for a night of sing-alongs that will warm your heart.

stay in a snow igloo
If you can tolerate the biting cold, staying in an igloo is one of the best experiences in this part of the world. Located in Hampatta, 12 km from Manali, a night stay in an igloo includes activities like skiing, tube sliding and sledge sliding. You can take a complete package, which includes three meals, a bonfire and a barbecue. After all, no winter camping in Manali is complete without a bonfire!
Hidimba Devi Temple
Start your day early and head to Hidimba Devi Temple, located at a distance of about 1.4 kilometers from Manali. The promising route to the temple offers scenic beauty and snow covered views of dense pine forest. Situated in the middle of the Dhungri forest, the three-tiered wooden ceiling of the Hidimba Devi temple is an epitome of craftsmanship and the doors of the temple are carved with intricate and unique designs including birds, animals and other mythological sculptures.
