As Chaitra Navratri approaches, many people prepare to inspect the fast for all nine days while worshiping Goddess Durga in their nine forms. During special VRAT meals, materials such as onion and garlic are usually avoided. One of the most popular foods consumed during this fasting period is Sabdana (sago or tapioca pearl), known for its many health benefits. Rich in carbohydrates, calcium, fiber, protein, iron and vitamins, Sabdana is a highly nutritious option for Chaitra Navratri, especially after a long time of fasting. Instead of eating the same Sabdana dish every day, you can experiment with various preparations to keep your food exciting and flavored.

Here is a list of five subdana cuisine that you can do on Chaitra Navratri 2025:

1) Subudana Kheer

In fasting days, it is probably the most common sweet dish made in many houses. This pudding made with sago, milk and sugar, does not require much effort. Top it with dried fruits and cardamom powder.

2) Kesari Subudana Khichdi

During Chaiti Navratri, nothing can beat the taste of Sabadna Khichdi. Soak Sabudana overnight and then cook it with spices and vegetables. This can be the perfect lunch for Chaitra Navratri.

3) Subudana Tikki

These pan-Friday and crispy paties are made with Sabudana and mashed potatoes. Add some cashew nuts for that extra bit spices and some cashews for green chillies. This is a delicious snack option, and, we are sure, Tikkis will disappear in no time.

4) Subudana Kebab

Subdana kebabs are not just delicious, but also filling and nutrition. Mashed potatoes, flour, curd and spices are cooked, this is a lip-smoking way to include Sabdana in your Chaitra Navratri diet.

5) Sabudana Vada

Sabdana, roasted peanuts, boiled potatoes, and some spices and herbs are necessary to make this popular deep fried snack. It is also gluten free and vegetarian. If you have prepared the subdhana, you can make these wads in no time.
