A recent study published in the Journal of Efficient Disorder shows how irregular daily activities can negatively affect mood and contribute to symptoms of depression.
How the lifestyle affects today’s fast-moving and unexpected programs can be challenging to maintain stability in daily habits. In a few days, you can spend hours out of the natural day light, while in other days, you can live indoors with limited performance of sunlight. Similarly, the level of your movement can have ups and downs – a few days you are engaged in acute physical activity, while on others, you take a complete rest day.
The study tracked 6,800 American adults to investigate how their daily movement and their mental health affected their mental health. The findings emphasized the importance of maintaining a stable routine, especially in the context of exposure to the level of activity and natural light. Those who had an ups and downs in contact with irregular routines and daylight, were more likely to experience the symptoms of depression.
Importance of stability
The study further stated that disruption in sleep cycles and daily activity patterns can negatively affect mental health. This is because irregular routine bothers the circadian rhythm-the internal clock of the body-which controls mood, energy levels and overall well-being.
Interestingly, research has shown that small adults were more affected by the level of inconsistent activity, emphasizing immediate needs for them to maintain structured daily habits. Men were found to be more sensitive to female ravages compared to women, and people with lower body mass index (BMI) benefited the most from maintaining a stable light risk routine.

Given these findings, maintaining a consistent daily routine can help improve mental welfare and reduce the risk of depression. Here are some effective ways to achieve this:
