Two daughters from Ghaziabad selflessly donated their brain-dead mother’s organs, saving the lives of three critically ill patients. The liver and two kidneys were successfully transplanted into patients suffering from chronic liver and kidney diseases.

The two daughters of a 72-year-old woman from Ghaziabad took a selfless decision to donate the organs of their mother after she was declared brain-dead. This generous act of organ donation Saved the lives of three critically ill patients in urgent need of transplant.
The woman, a resident of Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, was taken to the emergency department of Max Super Specialty Hospital in Vaishali in an unconscious state two days ago. Doctors diagnosed massive bleeding in her brain, and despite their best efforts, she was declared brain-dead after thorough evaluation by a team of specialists including a neurologist, intensivist, pulmonologist, and cardiologist.
Faced with this tragedy, the medical team of the hospital approached the patient’s family with the option of organ donation. Understanding the impact of this decision, the family agreed to donate their mother’s organs, providing the gift of life to those waiting for a transplant.
The organs include a liver and two kidneyWho were being transplanted successfully. The liver was allocated to a 51-year-old male patient suffering from chronic liver disease (CLD), while a kidney was transplanted into a 43-year-old female suffering from chronic kidney disease (CKD). The second kidney was taken to PSRI hospital through the green corridor, where it was successfully transplanted into another patient.
The transplant surgery was performed under the leadership of Dr. Subhash Gupta, Chairman of Max Super Specialty Hospital. liver transplant and Dr. Rajesh De, Associate Director of the Department of Biliary Sciences, and Liver Transplantation. The kidney transplant was performed by Dr. Ananth Kumar, Chairman of Urology Renal Transplant and Robotics and Dr. Neeru P. Agarwal, Principal Director of Nephrology.
