As the temperature rises during the extreme summer, it becomes even more important to take care of your health. Sericenization, heat tiredness, and stress on vital organs can all be avoided by simple lifestyle adjustment. We turn to three doctors, who share the advice required to stay safe, hydrated and healthy during the hottest months of the year.
Keep your kidney happy in summer
Dr. Bhanu Mishra, according to BLK Max Hospital, renal health often takes a hit during excessive heat due to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
“Hydration is the key. Be sure to drink a good amount of water daily during the hot weather,” Dr. Mishra says. He recommends consuming hydrating foods such as watermelon, cucumber and oranges to support kidney function.
Additionally, he recommends avoiding salty, processed foods, as excess sodium can put a stress on the kidneys. He suggests a workouts from time to time during the cooler parts of the day – early morning or late evening – to reduce stress on the body.
Summer IVF Care: Stay calm, be positive
For those undergoing IVF treatment, heat adds another layer of heat care and caution. Dr. Puneet Rana Arora, Cifar, Gurugram, indicate the importance of hydration and gentle nutrition during this sensitive phase.
Dr. “Drinking a lot of water to prevent dehydration, which can affect overall health and IVF success,” says Arora. She recommends mild, nutritious foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains to support reproductive health.
Avoiding directly in contact with the sun and wearing loose, breathing clothes is simple but effective steps to stay cool. Dr. Arora also emphasizes the importance of walking such as comfort, gentle exercise, and consults his physician regularly to accommodate drugs or lifestyle factors for optimal results.
Guard against heat stroke
Heat stroke is one of the most dangerous risks during the summer season. Dr. Vineet Banga, Fortis Hospital, Faridabad, outline of important prevention strategies.
Dr. Banga said, “Stay hydrated throughout the day and avoid alcohol or caffeinated drinks, as they dehydrate the body.” He advises to stay indoors between 10 am and 4 pm, using sunscreen when wearing light cotton clothes and steps out.
Dr. Banga also warns against leaving children or pets in warm, limited places such as cars. For early signs of heat tiredness, which involves dizziness, nausea, or heavy sweat, and works immediately to cool and recreate fluids.
