Rajasthani khatta meetha raita is like nothing you’ve ever had before. The most surprising aspect of this raita is that it doesn’t contain curd; instead, it is made with tamarind and jaggery water. Spices like red chilli powder, turmeric and ajwain add flavour to this side dish. Moreover, it also has small pieces of besan chilla in it, which makes it really unique.

How to make Rajasthani Meetha Khatta Raita | Khatta Meetha Raita Recipe

The recipe of this unique raita has been shared on the Instagram page @burrpet_by_dhruvijain. To make it, first mix jaggery, tamarind and water in a large bowl. Mix well and strain the mixture. In another bowl, add gram flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, ajwain and oil. Mix it well, then pour a ladleful of the mixture on a hot pan. Spread it evenly with a spatula. You will have something like a chilla. Once cooked, cut it into small pieces. Heat oil and prepare the tempering by adding red chili powder and cumin seeds. Finally, add the gram flour pieces to the tamarind-jaggery water and pour the prepared tempering on top. Your Rajasthani khatta meetha raita is now ready to be tasted!
