If you are planning to travel from the national capital around Republic Day, these are the travel restrictions you need to keep in mind

Planning to take a flight from or to Delhi? Plan ahead, because in the light Republic Day Celebrations and restrictions will remain in place in the national capital from January 19 to 29.
Flights closed for Republic Day preparations
From January 19 to January 26, flights at Delhiās Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) will remain closed between 10:20 am and 12:45 pm every day. This is to allow security preparations, flypast rehearsal and parade practice for the Republic Day. More than 1,300 flights, both domestic and international, will be affected, including to Toronto, Washington, Kathmandu and Colombo. Although no flights will be canceled due to this, there is a possibility of delays and rescheduling.

Delhi winter fog
Winter fog in Delhi is also making travel difficult. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for ādense to very dense fogā, which may reduce visibility. Severe fog was recorded on 4 January, when visibility at IGIA was below 200 meters for about 12 hours, while visibility remained at zero for nine hours. Reports said that due to the fog, more than 400 flights were delayed, 45 were canceled and 19 Delhi-bound flights were diverted.
