Chef Gary Mehigan has shared his love for Indian food many times on social media. In the past, during his trips to India, he has posted several delicious updates featuring local cuisine. His culinary adventures have taken him to many corners of the country and it seems he has found a new favorite in almost every region. Even when he is not in India, he enjoys eating and cooking Indian food. Her latest Instagram post hints at her passion for flaky parathas – a popular type of flatbread.

Chef Gary wrote, ā€œA little paratha/parotta obsession isn’t good for the waistline, but god they are delicious… As you know, I love all types of bread, the dough and technique is very simple but flaky That’s too hard’t. However, when you get it right, the difference between the crispness/crunchiness/flakyness and the soft tender interior is more than a little magic.ā€ Additionally, he recommends serving parathas with homemade dal tadka for a ā€œheavenlyā€ meal.

Their carousel post shows us this great combo. It also gives a glimpse of their parotta preparation. We see round pieces of dough that have been kneaded, shaped and folded in a specific way – they are placed together in a large bowl. A short clip shows a parotta being flipped on a pan, revealing its beautiful golden-brown surface glistening with butter. This isn’t the first time Chef Gary has praised Indian flatbread. Last year, he had shared a video of two vendors making and selling bun parotta at a shop in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
