GujaratThe land of the Asiatic lion is set to become an even bigger attraction for wildlife lovers. The state is preparing to open two new safari parks, one of which will be in the White Desert. Raw and another near a coastal town DiuThese parks will offer visitors an opportunity to see the majestic lion and the elusive leopard in their natural habitat.
The decision to create these new safari parks is a strategic move to boost tourism in the state. By offering tourists an immersive wildlife experience, Gujarat aims to attract more visitors to explore its diverse landscapes and rich cultural heritage. The twin safari parks are to be developed at Narayan Sarovar in Kutch and Naliya-Mandvi (Una taluka) in Gir Somnath. The parks are expected to generate employment opportunities and contribute to the local economy. According to reports, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Nityanand Shrivastava said, “The CZAI has given its final approval. We will now submit the proposal before the Supreme Court for its approval, as these sanctuaries will be set up on forest land.”
The thrill of seeing these big cats is undoubtedly the main attraction, but these safari parks will also play a vital role in wildlife conservation. By raising awareness of these magnificent creatures, the parks can help foster a sense of responsibility towards their protection.
