Mentioned in the first verse of the Hindu scripture Bhagavad Gita, Kurukshetra is said to have been built by King Kuru, the ancestor of the Kauravas and Pandavas. It is home to many holy sites which, once developed, will attract pilgrims and history lovers from all over the world. Some of the major sites earmarked for development include:

Astrologer: The place where Lord Krishna imparted deep knowledge of Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna. Today, a daily light and sound show runs here in both English and Hindi languages.

Bhishma Kund, Bhishma Kund is a sacred site associated with the Mahabharata, where the brave Bhishma lay on a bed of arrows after the great battle. Legend has it that when Bhishma asked for water, Arjuna shot an arrow into the ground, creating the sacred pond, next to which a temple stands today.
