Here are 3 changes to make in Sharad Navratri 2023 diet for healthy fasting:

Mistake 1: Sabudana Khichdi

Sabudana Khichdi, a favorite dish during fasting, is a common problem. Although it is a favorite in Navratri, it consists mostly of starch, which quickly gets converted into glucose in the body. This can cause rapid fluctuations in blood sugar levels, leading to decreased energy and increased appetite. Sago is low in fiber, high in calories and contains practically no protein. During religious fasts like Navratri, it is common to rely heavily on sago-based dishes, which can lead to excessive consumption of this starchy ingredient.
