winter magic has changed Sandakphu Peak And Sikkim Snowy wonderlands are a delight for visitors and locals alike. Sandakphu, Bengal’s highest peak at 11,930 feet, received its second snowfall of the season, covering Singalila National Park and nearby places like Phalut and Thakum in a pristine white blanket. The region, known for its iconic trekking routes and vintage Land Rover rides, saw fewer tourists than last month but is expected to increase as snowfall draws back adventurers.

The higher reaches of Sikkim also received heavy snowfall, including Nathu La (14,000 ft) and Chhangu Lake (12,310 ft), turning them into snow-clad landscapes. However, safety was given priority as the state tourism department restricted movement in certain areas. Visitors are now allowed only to designated points like 10th Mile near Gangtok and Lachung in North Sikkim, while popular sites like Gurudongmar Lake and Zero Point are under restrictions until weather conditions improve.
According to reports, the fresh snowfall has led to an increase in the number of tourists who have come to stay in places like Lachung and Lachen, accepting the cold and heeding safety advisories to avoid visiting remote, snowy areas. Paying attention. Meanwhile, meteorologists have predicted more snowfall as the Western Disturbance remains active, prompting some caution in winter enthusiasm. Even the cold was felt in the plains of sub-Himalayan Bengal, with rain and foggy conditions reminding travelers to remain cautious on the roads.
