Banana Leaf Idli Recipe: How To Make It

This easy and creative recipe was shared by Instagram page @keyfoodieofficer. Here’s how you can try it:

1. Prepare the gravy

– Heat ghee in a pan and fry the chopped onion until it turns golden. Add tomatoes, a pinch of turmeric, podi masala, dried coriander, salt and a little water. – Mix all this and turn off the flame.

2. Layer it up

– Take a banana leaf, apply ghee on it and spread a layer of onion-tomato gravy in the middle. Pour the idli batter over the gravy and sprinkle a little podi masala for added flavour.

3. Steam it to perfection

Cover the pan with a lid and let the idli steam until cooked. Once done, serve it hot and enjoy the rich taste!
