How to navigate an existent crisis without losing yourself
It is natural to face an existential crisis. Instead of protesting, embrace uncertainty, find small happiness, join with others, find out philosophy, and laugh at the absence of existence.

A moment comes in many lives when familiar structures of meaning – career ambitions, relationships, even personal belief – to feel strangely hollow. An existential crisis often attacks already quietly, then spreads in a deep, instability that the definitions of life are far more fragile than appearing. This can make you feel overwhelmed by the sheer scale of unanswered questions, which can leave me: Who am I? Why am I here? What does it mean?
Instead of being a sign of failure, facing such a crisis is a natural part of being a thinking, feeling human.
But once you recognize it, what are you going to do about it on earth? Well, perhaps the answer begins with not taking ourselves or the universe very seriously.
Now, let’s deal with it.
1. Befriend zero
Instead of running from them “what does this mean?” Thoughts, sit with them a little bit. Journal about them. Paint them. Shout them in a pillow. Sometimes questions matter more than answers.
2. Find out small objectives
Forget about the “meaning of life” for a second. Pay attention to small meanings: Creating a stellar cup of tea, help your neighbor with your grocery accessories, and send a friend to a friend. Life is not a grand purpose – this is a collage of small people.
3. Talk to humans
The existence on isolation feeds the dreaded. Find someone who receives it – or at least when you start a sentence, “Do you ever wonder if anything is real?” Talking through things can shrink those heavy feelings into something more manageable.
4. Channel to your internal philosopher
You are not the first to wonder what the cat is running. Great minds like Socrates and Camus spent existence in existence. Read darshan. Listen to cosmic folk music. Write a bad poem about the stars. Remember: Finishing with the mysteries of life is a part of being luxurious, disappointing human beings.
5. Laugh at it
Sometimes, the best rescue against existence is absolutely absurd. See a ridiculous comedy. Prepare your dog in a bout. Accept that the universe is strange and you are strange and it is beautiful?
