How to store green peas for a long time? Step by step process

It is a winter season when our vegetable basket is working with fresh green peas. We eat this fibrous vegetable on a daily basis and make tons of dishes from it. While we may not definitely be enough for these fresh peas, the winter season is almost reaching its end. This also means that you can no longer get fresh green peas. However, do you know if you store them properly, you can use green peas for a long time? Yes, you heard us. Our refrigerators are different. The freezer helps expand the shelf life of many disastrous foods. Processed food, meat, curry, soup and stew, a packet of some vegetables, and much more frozen, expand the life of these foods. So, this time, learn to store and freeze fresh peas for a long time. The process is very simple, and you can keep as many peas as you want. Read the process below:

Step-by-step process to store fresh peas for a long time

  1. Take green peas and remove their outer skin. Keep in a bowl and wash them.
  2. Next, in a saucepan, boil some water and add some sugar to it. Let it dissolve. Sugar helps maintain color.
  3. Now throw it in the peas. For two minutes, keep the heat at medium-high, and then remove from the heat.
  4. Add peas through a sieve. After that, quickly immerse them in regular water with ice cold water or ice pieces.
  5. Place the peas in this container until they are completely cold. Then, pass them once again through a sieve.
  6. Now, lock the zip peas in a small polyethylene bag. Make sure they are airtight. Keep these bags in a deep freezer. You can also use an airtight container. However, it is advisable to place in the zip lock bag as it takes less space.
