Hunger, nausea, tiredness: What happens to your body when you eat like Donald Trump for a week
Author Gareth Davies followed Donald Trump’s fast-food-heavy diet for a week to see its effects. Skipping meals, eating large amounts of fast food, and drinking several Diet Cokes daily led to nausea, fatigue, and digestive problems. Experts warn about the health risks of such processed and unbalanced eating patterns.

donald trump A few months ago he revealed about his weight loss journey and what he eats in a day. Recently, Gareth Davis, a writer, followed his fast food diet for seven days to observe its physical and psychological effects. The US President’s diet is full of fast food, snacks and the former President’s eating habits also include a worrying amount of Diet Coke. Davis wrote about his efforts to follow a rigorous routine. Davis wrote of Trump, “I don’t understand how that man is still alive.”
Here’s what happens to your body when you eat like Donald Trump for a weekskipping breakfast
Davis, who tried to follow Trump’s eating habits, often skipped breakfast. When Trump eats breakfast, it usually involves scrambled eggs and bacon. In contrast, Davis would start his morning with a can of Diet Coke and sometimes some Doritos. This was making him nauseous and the problem worsened when he drank coffee on an empty stomach. Like Trump, Davis also took supplements like zinc, vitamin D and melatonin, which weighed heavily on her stomach without food.
skipping lunch
Trump rarely eats lunch, instead opting for the occasional snack such as a meatloaf sandwich. Davis followed suit, skipping lunch altogether and relying more on Diet Coke and occasional snacks.
fast-food dinner
Dinner is the main meal in Trump’s daily routine, which often includes fast food. Trump’s typical order includes two Filet-O-Fish sandwiches, two Big Macs and a chocolate milkshake. Davis reflected this with large portions of McDonald’s, pizza and KFC. While the food was initially satisfactory, Davis found the milkshakes too thick and the routine monotonous.
Snacks and Drinks
Trump is said to drink up to 12 cans of Diet Coke every day with minimal water. Davis managed nine cans a day but found the experience overwhelming. Doritos, Trump’s favorite snack, were also part of the diet, although Davis said they were unsatisfactory as a meal replacement.
health concerns
Nutritionists criticize Trump’s diet for its reliance on processed foods, lack of fiber, and absence of plant-based nutrients, which can harm gut health and increase long-term health risks. High intake of aspartame, a major ingredient in Diet Coke, has been flagged as a possible carcinogen by the WHO. Water scarcity also raises concerns about proper hydration.
Davis’ takeaway: Mentally and physically exhausting
After a week, Davis described the diet as mentally and physically exhausting. The heavy reliance on processed foods and lack of variety left them struggling with hunger, fatigue and digestive problems, highlighting the challenges of maintaining such a routine.
