In an effort to boost tourism, India’s longest cantilever glass skywalk bridge, spanning 50 metres, will be built in Visakhapatnam. It will be constructed near Titanic Viewpoint in Kailashgiri. The estimated budget of the project is around ₹6 crore and its construction is scheduled to begin on November 18, 2024.
For those unaware, a cantilever glass skywalk bridge is a pedestrian bridge that extends horizontally from a supporting structure – a building or cliff – without additional support from below.
The project comes in the form of a public-private partnership as a venture between Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) and a joint venture of RJ Adventures, SSM Shipping & Logistics and Bharat Mata Ventures Private Limited.
