Karva Chauth 2024: After Navratri, Durga Puja and Dussehra festivities, it is that time of the year again when married women will observe fast. waterless fast (Fast without water) for the long life of your husband – Karva Chauth. Karva Chauth is a festival widely celebrated by married women, where they abstain from eating any kind of food or drinking water for the whole day. This fast starts after sunrise and continues till the moon shines in the sky.
There is a tradition of eating ‘Sargi Thali’ to keep oneself energetic throughout the day. This thali is served by the mother-in-law and since this is the only time you have to eat to survive the entire day, it is essential to consume energy-giving foods to get through the day. Foods to Add to Your Sargi Thali to Stay Energetic
Fruits and Dry Fruits:
Fresh fruits and dry fruits should be a part of your sargi thali as it will help you stay satiated for a longer period. Adding fruits to your sargi thali can help you stay hydrated, and you will get essential vitamins and fiber, which will maintain your energy levels. To maintain energy levels you can include fruits like apple, papaya, watermelon, oranges, bananas.
For dry fruits, you can add almonds, cashews, walnuts and raisins to your sargi thali for a natural energy boost. Nuts are rich in vitamins, minerals and healthy fats that provide sustained energy and help keep you satiated for longer. Almonds are rich in magnesium and protein, which help control blood sugar levels and deal with fatigue. Walnuts contain omega-3 fatty acids which enhance brain function and mood stability. Phirni or Kheer
