When we talk about eating food, we all have some priorities. It can be a favorite drink or a specific food that you enjoy eating with it. Let’s just say, it seems incomplete when you are not doing both together. While some of these food combinations are fine, others can do more harm than well. At that moment, you may feel a feeling of satisfaction and happiness, but continuing to eat some food combo may create challenges for your hormonal health. What are these food combinations to know? Read this to find out, as shared on her official Instagram page by Nutritionist Porima Perry.

Here are 5 food combinations that can affect your hormonal health:

1. Milk + fruit

Many of us have fruits with a glass of milk for breakfast. If you also do, it’s time to stop. According to poornima, a combination of milk with fruits, especially with bananas or sour fruits, can cause inflammation and slow down digestion. Not only this, but consumed together can also trigger insulin spikes and inflammation of the intestine. So, always keep them separately.

2. Tea/coffee + iron

Another food combination that you should avoid is tea or coffee -rich foods. These include foods such as lentils or dark green leafy vegetables. Does this combo make it so bad? It is due to the presence of a compound called tannin in tea and coffee. She says that it can disrupt iron absorption, leading to low energy, fatigue and hormonal imbalance.

3. Dairy + High-Chinese Foods

A combination of dairy products and sugars foods should also be avoided. Certainly, adding strawberries or bananas to your curd bowl can be attractive, but it is not best for your health. The nutritionist shares that this combination may trigger insulin spikes, deteriorating PCOS and metabolic issues.

4. Wheat bread + sugar

Do you have a habit of eating good with bread or perhaps mangoes while eating your food? Stop doing this! Poornima says that a combination of wheat with sugar can be harmful to your health. Doing this can cause blood sugar accidents, increase crawings, and can cause mood. What is more, it can also storage unnecessary fat.

5. Curd + Paratha/Cassero

The combination of yogurt with hot paratha or casserole is to die for the bus, right? But do you know that it can slow down your digestion? We all know that dairy is great for digestion, but not when it is combined with carbohydrates. Poornima suggests that doing so can cause swelling, gas and other stomach related issues. It also causes imbalance in intestine bacteria, directly affects hormonal health.
