Infected blood inquiry is hearing two days of hearing of two days, which is amid concerns about the government’s response to compensation, the campaigners warned that they are “losing faith”.

It comes after about a year when the final report was published in the scandal – the biggest treatment disaster in the history of NHS is called disaster.

In the 1970s and 80s, more than 30,000 people signed HIV and hepatitis from contaminated blood products – and 3,000 people died.

The aggrieved groups have since said that the government has been slow to pay compensation and there was a lack of transparency in the process. The chairman of the inquiry Sir Brian Langstaff said that he had decided to work in view of the “gravity” of the problems expressed.

What is infected blood scam?

The government said it was “fully committed” to cooperate with the investigation.

And a spokesman said that this interrogation recommendations continue to take action, saying: “The victims of this scam have been unnaturally afflicted.”

When the final report of Sir Bryan was published in last May, the then Orthodox government immediately responded to set up a new compensation scheme.

While some victims had earlier received the payment, the new compensation scheme increased the amount that could be paid to them and compensation to a comprehensive group of people, including the family and love of the family who were infected.

A new organization, infected blood compensation authority, was established to oversee the plan with approximately £ 12 billion for payment.

Earlier payments were made at the end of last year, but by mid -March, only 40 payments were agreed. The government has given itself to the end of 2029 to pay.

Anger

In the evidence sent for questioning, the victims and their lawyers criticized the length of the length of the “sambolic” and “chaotic” meetings with the problems of starting and continuing after the July elections.

Sir Bryan said: “The decision to organize the hearing has not been taken lightly. It reflects the gravity of concerns expressed continuously and repeatedly.

“Infected and affected people do not have time in their favor.”

The new hearing will be held on 7 and 8 May.

Cabinet Office Minister Nick Thomas-SIMAN will provide evidence with senior officials of the infected blood compensation Authority (IBCA).

Groups representing people infected and affected by the scam will also provide evidence.

Kate Burt, chief executive of the Hemophilia Society, said: “This powerful and unique intervention shows the widespread anger, confusion and despair of the contaminated blood community that the government is failing to fulfill its promises.

“People are starting to lose confidence that they will ever get a proper disposal.”
