If you have the thought of Petronas Towers in your mind then there is good news for you. malaysia has extended its visa waiver program for Indian citizens till December 31, 2026. The initiative is part of Malaysia’s efforts to boost tourism, strengthen its economy and prepare for its role as the 2025 ASEAN Chair, while setting the stage for the Malaysia Travel Year 2026.
The announcement was made by Home Ministry secretary-general Datuk Awang Alik Zeman, who said the visa-free entry is in line with the country’s goals of attracting more tourists while maintaining strict national security measures.
In November 2023, Malaysia was to scrap visas for Indians, following in the footsteps of Vietnam, Thailand and Sri Lanka, a decision announced by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim during a speech at the annual conference of his People’s Justice Party in Putrajaya Was. The program, initially launched on December 1, 2023 under the visa liberalization initiative, has now been extended for three more years. This program provides visa-free entry to Indian and Chinese citizens for a period of 30 days per visit.
